About Canyon Heights PAC

Welcome to the online source for Canyon Heights Elementary Parent Advisory Council (PAC). All parents at our school are a part of our PAC. We hope for and welcome your input and participation throughout the school year! The PAC plans and supports additional activities for our school community all year long. Fun, fundraising, socializing, and helping connect all members of school community is what we do--believing that a strong and connected community benefits our children most of all!

Weekly Update for September 26 - 30, 2016

Hello Parents! Weekly Update follows, but first, what a great time parents and kids had together at the Ice Cream Social Welcome Back Party! Thanks to the Social Committee Coordinators, school admin. and staff, Save on Foods for the ice cream, and all the parents who volunteered! It was such fun to see the kids zooming around with huge smiles--a few with messy ice cream faces--and parents chatting out in the fantastic weather!

And now, your weekly update:
All week -
We are encouraging everyone to walk and roll to school! More details below...
Hot Lunch Ordering is open and you can click to open an ordering window if you would like to participate in one of our key fundraisers (and skip a few days of lunch preparations!)

Walk and Roll
Our objective is to encourage our Canyon Heights families to walk and bike to school in an effort to foster a generation of active, healthy kids, and create safer streets for everyone. Walking and biking to school creates closer connections to your neighbourhood, builds your kids’ confidence, independence, and self-esteem, and ensures that your kids arrive at school refreshed and ready to learn.

We’re also encouraging any Canyon Heights families who absolutely need to drive to park a few blocks away at one of our three neighbourhood Drive-to-Five parking zones and walk the remaining five minutes to school. Fewer driving drop-offs means less traffic congestion in front of the school - and less hassle on the way to wherever you’re going next! The map shows distances for your planning and convenience. (It's great to do a try-out walk or roll to be confirm how long it takes your kids legs!)
