About Canyon Heights PAC

Welcome to the online source for Canyon Heights Elementary Parent Advisory Council (PAC). All parents at our school are a part of our PAC. We hope for and welcome your input and participation throughout the school year! The PAC plans and supports additional activities for our school community all year long. Fun, fundraising, socializing, and helping connect all members of school community is what we do--believing that a strong and connected community benefits our children most of all!

Kid Kudos

January 21, 2016 Kudos to Kiddos and Parents too-

Congratulations to all the kids who are walking, biking, scootering, or Driving to 5 to get to school.  We hope you're all enjoying the fresh air to start your day.  For the Freedom Friday organizers and parents who have joined in, it has been WONDERFUL seeing your smiling faces in the mornings!

Winter Concert Kudos to Students and Staff

The smiles that shone in the gym from students, parents, grandparents, friends and teachers told the tale of a fantastic contest. Music, dance moves and dialogue gave us a taste of celebrating seasons and culture - and it was a treat to be able to see so easily with the risers and stage so well set!

This event was beautifully performed in ways that showed energetic and caring preparation by everyone involved.  The children obviously enjoyed performing seasonal songs from around the world as much as everyone in attendance enjoyed being in the audience.

Kudos all around!

TASTY TUESDAYS AT CANYON HEIGHTS, by M.Haller (posted Nov. 30, 2015)

Tasty Tuesdays have a long tradition at Canyon Heights.  For over a decade now, the Student Committee for Nicaragua (consisting of over 100 Grade 5,6, and 7 volunteers!) has organized a monthly bake sale as part of its fundraising efforts.
The money raised provides basic, permanent housing for destitute families in Esteli, Nicaragua.

The students have made a profound difference in the lives of nearly 30 families so far - families who live in daily gratitude to our school community for putting a roof over their heads for years to come.

Tasty Tuesdays are student lead and organized, with the guidance of Ms Haller and Mr. Simms. The student volunteers are very proud of themselves as they work to help others!

Shout outs to students coming soon

Please check back for kudos to our students; and please feel free to use the blog as a way of sending good things to our students.  For example, if you notice students caring for the school ground - shout it out here with a comment.

**For privacy and safety, we'll de-identify the students and only use their grade or level - but they'll know who they are!
